Recently a lot of us have been suffering blogspam in our blog comments. This happened to me last week and I decided to create a custom control that should be easy to install and that will protect our blogs from spammers that want to increase the rankings on search engines. I had a lot of work so couldn't finish it last week, and I said in a Stefano Demilliani post that my solution will be available after this weekend, and here it is.

The control is easy to install. Requires no coding and no recompiling. Just a couple of lines in your web.config and your aspx file. Works for every ASP.NET webform even though it was originally thought for .Text... It includes an easy and well-known HIP (Human Interaction Proof) mechanism seen in many online sites (hotmail, yahoo, etc... )

You can download the control from the following link: Clearscreen HIP Control 1.0

PD: It's already installed here, in Clearscreen Blogs, and it was really easy to follow with no downloading or recompiling as other techniques available or without modifying the database

UPDATED: I've updated the control and released version 1.1 with support for design view and added design properties. Check the new post.
